Irmak Renda-Tanali, DSc.
Program Chair of the Homeland Security Management and Emergency Management programs and Professor at the University of Maryland University College. Dr. Renda-Tanali has been successfully running the academic programs she created and graduated hundreds of students over the past decade. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, an online prestigious journal that reaches a wide spectrum of audiences within the U.S. and across the world. ). Dr. Renda-Tanali is a recipient of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents Faculty Excellence Award. Dr. Renda-Tanali is active in the Homeland Security and Emergency Management fields as a consultant and researcher. Some of her former clients include NASA, FAA, and USACE. She served on Maryland Governor’s Emergency Management Advisory Council (GEMAC) for 5 years. Dr. Renda-Tanali holds a Doctor of Science degree in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Irmak Renda-Tanali also holds a M.S. and a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and a M.B.A. Dr. Renda-Tanali formerly ran a successful engineering design business specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure.
